Play the world’s only Par 6 that is so long it straddles two states
With more than 400 golf courses across North Carolina, visiting golfers have a wide variety of choices. But there’s only one place in the world where you’ll find a Par 6 hole so long that golfers tee off in one state and putt in another. Farmstead Golf Links in Calabash is one of several popular courses along the Brunswick Islands, a noted golf area at the southern tip of North Carolina’s coast. Farmstead’s 18th hole is a whopping 767-yard Par 6 that is one of the longest holes in the world. Named by Golf Digest as one of the 18 Most Fun Holes in America, Farmstead’s #18 is one of two Par 6 holes in North Carolina. The other is the 747-yard 17th hole at Black Mountain Golf Club, which was the longest hole in the world when it debuted. Farmstead’s Par 6 is the perfect ending to a classic golf experience in the area known as North Carolina’s “golf coast.”
