Repeat the "Dirty Dancing" lake lift in the place where it happened

Each summer, visitors to North Carolina can channel their inner Baby or Johnny at the annual Dirty Dancing Festival at Lake Lure. Set against the film’s original, breathtaking backdrop, the festival celebrates and raises money for dance and the arts in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. A highlight of the festival is the Lake Lift Competition where couples relive the magical moment from the film where Johnny and Baby perfected their dance lift. The festival also includes a lakeside screening of the movie, dance lessons, watermelon activities and entertainment. Dirty Dancing fanatics can even stay in themed cabins such as “Johnny’s Cabin” or “Baby’s Bungalow” at the Lake Lure Inn.
