Have a drink at the nation’s first wind-powered brewery

When you visit Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills, not only are you drinking sustainably made, local craft beer, you’re supporting an innovative and educational restaurant that’s also down to have a lot of fun. The restaurant and brewery was the first business to produce wind power on the Outer Banks and is the first wind-powered brewery in the United States. The idea began in Thailand with two Peace Corps colleagues, Aubrey Davis and Eric Reece. Twenty-five years later, you can enjoy a constantly changing variety of craft beers ranging from lighter pilsners and ales to IPAs and heavier stouts. Bands fill the air with music; children play on the playground and couples challenge each other to cornhole games for an entertaining afternoon at this unique brew pub.
